OSHA Regulations
Compliance with the vast and varied OSHA Regulations can be a strain on any business, but non-compliance can be even more costly.
Any overhead crane, jib or gantry crane, or hoist used in a business is subject to compliance with OSHA regulations.

OSHA Regulations include the following:
OSHA Regulation (Section 1910.179) requires overhead crane operators to conduct a daily safety check
of their hoists or cranes prior to use at the beginning of each shift during which a crane is used.
All cab-operated cranes are required to have an emergency means of egress. All overhead cranes and
hoists must be labeled with an A.N.S.I. warning tag.
All hoists must be load tested to meet compliance with OSHA current federal standards.
(Section 1910.179)
A thorough inspection of all wire ropes must be made at least once a month. and a certification record
which includes the date of inspection, the signature of the person who performed the inspection and
an identifier for the ropes that were inspected must be kept readily available for appointed personnel
Written documentation reports are required on inspections and service.
